I wanted to do somethin simplistic, yet complex. Lack of colour but have something as a focal point. I actually got thid idea while On the plane back to NY from seeing Lira. Its got alot of Kanji, and self meaning so Allow me to explain :3
Going clockwise form the upper outer right edge the Kanji reads "fire" symbolozing Narumi, and the bright flame of passions and dreams that burn inside myself. Below it "water" for my western zodiological and spiritual ties to such. In the lower left corner, Metal. My zodiological Eastern Element, something as Dragonm I feel tied to (silver/platinum) The top left corner, the Kanji for "Light" intertwined with Narumi and Kitsune, symbolizing the guiding lights form within and out.
The Inner diamond on the top part, is the Kanji for "God" or "Kami" A root of so much in my life, and has been so deeply intertwined with my spirituality for so long. I would be lost without them. As a person and kitsune my duties are to them. Moving clockwards, the next Kanji is for "Sky" the endless limatations, freedoms. This is also represenitive of one of my 3 magatama stones on my necklace you see Naryu wear. Below that, the Kanji for "Soul" also below kami for a reason, the Soul is too precious for words, and its beauty unmatched. Next to that, the kanji for "Ocean" another place I have a spiritual tie to. being born and raised near the shore it has become a source of adventure and magick.

On the outer rims Kitsune above, Dragon below. both aspects of myself.
Inside the bright red sun, Symbolizing my spiritual ties to the season of summer, and the the Goddess Amaterasu-sama. The first Deitiy I ever knew/worhed with. In the center of the sun, Inari's seal. Symbolizing my tie to Him/Her :"3

That's beautiful. I love the simplicity of it, yet the power that you can see in the lines, in the few colors you did use. Very personal, very powerful. :)
This looks awesome.

Hmm. Not bad, although the seal seems a bit more stylized than the original, does it not? No offense, mind you-I'm just asking. Anyways, this is a great work, deserving of a fave!

I am the lord of Lonan Shedow, their one and only heir. I will be here when the sands of time stop.
I just wish that pesky mortal would stop poking me with a stick!
Amateratsu and Inari...The goddess of the sun, and the god of the moon.... I was of the year of the fox, what of you?

well considering their is no "year of the fox" in Asain mythos I know not to the culture/zodiological aspect you refer to. there is the DOG in chinese..

"I close my eyes as if I were praying, the world just disappears in the bottom of the darkness, Even though, my heart starts to beat, searching for a limited eternity.. Come back to me, by following your memories, to the origin of gentleness and dreams"
I really love your art, and think that your explanation was verry moving (I have allso allways asociated most with both the fox and the dragon for various reasons...)

Have you ever used a pink golf ball? The wind shear alone could take the head off of a midget at ninety yards
It's beautiful. Are you of the Shinto religion?
